On 24th May Mrs Whitten attended on a course on Dartmoor regarding how to deliver maths outdoors.
Upon her return she undertook one of the activities with the Class 2 children within their Forest School lesson.
The challenges was to take 9 sticks of equal length and work in groups of three to put them together to make as many triangles as possible. There were no other instructions so the children had to think about what or how they were going to use their sticks to make the triangles. They started off with only three triangles but once they started thinking about it a bit more, more triangles started appearing. The highest the children managed to get to was 12. How many could you do?!
